printing setup
-
PDF (Portable Document Format) is generally universal for printing.
Other image file types we accept are high resolution JPG and PNG files.
For vector graphics, we do accept SVG and EPS file types as long as the outlines are expanded. Make sure all text is converted to outlines.
*Make sure all your graphic layers are flattened if you are working in an image editing software.
-
Printers print in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key/Black).
This may look very different than on your screen, which typically uses RGB (Red, Green, Blue) for monitor/screen viewing.
-
Our printers do not print all the way to the edge of a page. This will cause your image/text to be cut off if not sized down to fit within the printable area.
* Make sure you keep important text and images away from the edges. We suggest at least .25” to be your margin setup.

Images are raster files and have many pixels/dots that form up an image. This can become blurry if the resolution of the image is low, meaning missing pixels/dots that the printer cannot render onto the page.
When printing, it is best to have at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) in order to achieve a clear image. This allows you to print almost any size on a standard printer.
